Solving Acoustic Challenges in Churches: A Tailored Approach

City Life Church in Melbourne, Australia, recently contacted Sontext to solve some acoustic issues in their auditorium. The space was experiencing an odd mix of "dead" spots at specific frequencies and overly reflective areas at others. To tackle this, we partnered with Hanson and Associates, an acoustic engineering firm based in Melbourne, to design a solution.

Sontext manufactured custom Acoustic Panels and paired them with our Serenity Acoustic Diffusers. These diffusers consist of sound-absorbing insulation with a plywood face, combining performance and style. We covered the diffusers with Rim Trilogy 1 fabrics by Innova, giving them a fashionable, decorative finish that complements the church's interior.

We didn't stop there. To further improve sound quality, we installed 100mm Serenity Acoustic Panels along the side of the stage and 50mm panels in the hallways. By working closely with the acoustic engineer, Sontext delivered a complete, professional installation that addressed both technical needs and aesthetic goals.
